The first ever Type R-badged Honda to be sold in America debuted at the New York International Auto Show on April 12, 2017. The 2017 Honda Civic Type R was built for the track and your daily drive using the tenth generation hatchback body with enhancements.
What’s new and improved on the 2017 Honda Civic Type R? The improved structural adhesives and change in body materials and components make this hatchback the most powerful and responsive Honda to date. The aluminum hood helps reduce weight, and thus improve speed. The Honda has a more rigid body because torsional rigidity increased 38-percent and bending rigidity increased 45-percent, making the Honda Civic Type R extremely stable when cornering while abating wind noise and body vibration. Check out the additional performance enhancements below:

  • 306-HP, 295-lb.-ft. 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC® turbocharged engine with dual valve timing control
  • 20-in. aluminum alloy wheels with Continental ContiSportContact 6 performance tires
  • Four-wheel Adaptive Suspension System with three-chamber dampers
