But because life doesn’t always work out that way, Honda is doing its part to help make access to a vehicle more affordable for those individuals. Through the Honda Mobility Program, customers can be reimbursed for up to $1,000 when buying and installing qualified adaptive vehicle equipment on any eligible purchased or leased Honda model.
 

How to Qualify for the Honda Mobility Program

 
  • Only the original owner is eligible for reimbursement
  • The modifications being made must be for either the original owner or an immediate family member
  • The vehicle being modified must be a new Honda model purchased or leased from an authorized Honda dealership like Honda of Tiffany Springs
  • Modifications must be for the purpose of accessing or driving the vehicle
  • Modifications must be made during the new vehicle warranty period*
  • Adaptive equipment must be prescribed by a doctor**
  • Adaptive equipment must be installed by a business registered with the NHTSA***
  • Adaptive equipment must be approved by the NHTSA***
  • Only one reimbursement request may be submitted per vehicle
 

How to Apply for the Honda Mobility Program


Applications for adaptive equipment reimbursement are available at Honda of Tiffany Springs or upon request from Honda Automobile Customer Service at 1-800-999-1009. The form must be filled out in its entirely, signed by the customer, and include all supporting documentation.
 
Within six months of the adaptive equipment installation, mail the application with your information and required documentation to:

Honda’s reimbursement will be considered secondary coverage if the customer is receiving more than one reimbursement. For example, if the customer is also receiving a partial reimbursement from medial insurance, Honda’s contribution will only be applied to the amount left after the insurance reimbursement is applied.
 
Reimbursements will be processed and mailed within 4 weeks of receipt of all required documentation.

***Modifications that DO NOT make inoperative any part of a device or element of design that has been installed on or in a motor vehicle in compliance with a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard will not require NHTSA exemption verification and NHTSA business registration for reimbursement consideration.
