No Image Selected
In the world of minivans, there are two dominant players: the Honda Odyssey, a long-time favorite, and the Chrysler Pacifica, a recent addition. But how do their base models stack up against one another? When you compare the 2019 Honda Odyssey LX and the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica L, it is clear that the Odyssey is the superior vehicle. Here’s why:

Fuel Economy and Performance

An efficient 3.5-liter V6 powers the 2019 Honda Odyssey LX, delivering up to 19 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway1. The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica L also achieves 28 mpg on the highway with its 3.6-liter V6 engine, but in the city, it only achieves up to 18 mpg2.

The standard manually interactive automatic transmission with paddle shifters enhances the 2019 Odyssey LX’s performance, although neither the transmission nor paddle shifters are available for the base trim of the Pacifica.

The Odyssey also comes standard with variable assisted steering and a rear stabilizer bar, which aren’t even optional features on the Pacifica. Finally, the Odyssey LX has a turning diameter of 39.6 feet and optional towing pre-wiring, whereas the Pacifica L’s turning diameter is 39.7 feet, and is not available with towing pre-wiring.

Safety Features

The 2019 Honda Odyssey LX comes with two important safety features that are not available on the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica L, namely front active head restraints and third-row head restraints.

The interior of the Honda Odyssey LX is more spacious and comfortable than that of the Chrysler Pacifica L. The 2019 Odyssey boasts up to 144.9 cubic feet of max cargo volume compared to 140.5 in the 2019 Pacifica. The Odyssey comes standard with Dual Zone Climate Control and floor mats, both of which are only optional on the Pacifica. It also comes standard with Automatic Climate Control and a cargo area light; neither is available on the Pacifica.
